Something in Discussion

Today is a pretty good day. We have a discussion talking about the term of “Patriarchy” while we are heading to New Orleans. According to the dictionary.com, the “Patriarchy” means:

1: social organization marked by the supremacy of the father in the clan or family, the legal dependence of wives and children, and the reckoning of descent and inheritance in the male line; broadly : control by men of a disproportionately large share of power

2: a society or institution organized according to the principles or practices of patriarchy
we are arrived at New Orleans.

Nowadays, society is still dominated by the man even though the equality of between women and men has improved. The supreme leader of North Korea Kim Jong-il was a good example in our discussion. Kim Jong-il succeeded his leadership from his father and he decided to pass it to his son Kin Jong-un. Although Kim Jong-il has a daughter, he still chose to pass the leadership to his son after he died. This is a good example describing “Patriarchy”.

After our discussion, the bus finally arrived at New Orleans. The sunset here is beautiful and I am looking forward to the civil rights tour tomorrow.
