Today was a VERY interesting day! We attended a service at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA. Soon after we went to the MLK Center nearby. The service was very inclusive. The MLK center was so inspiring and very informational. After the MLK Center, we crossed the street and took a tour of the home that Martin Luther King grew up in. To look at such a simple home as the home which such an extraordinary man came from was moving. After the tour, we went to look at Martin Luther King Jr's grave site which is beautifully set in water alongside his wife's grave, Coretta Scott King.
We then got on the bus and headed to a Mall in surburban Atlanta. We went shopping and ate, then headed for Birmingham, AL.
Hopefully, tomorrow is as interesting as today was!

University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students have the opportunity to spend their winter or spring break on a Civil Rights Pilgrimage to the South, visiting sites of historic importance to the U.S. civil rights movement. This blog is a record of the learning experiences of our students dating back to our first trip in March 2008.
