Rosa Parks and downtown Montgomery

Hey all,
Today we finished up Birmingham and headed to Montgomery. Kelly Ingram park in Birmingham was a very sobering experience--to stand there were so many people stood up for their rights and risked their lives, were beaten and sprayed with water hoses and bitten by dogs, and little kids stayed for nights in jail--it was unbelievable. We walked around downtown and discovered the historic district, where a man said "welcome to history". In Montgomery, the Rosa Parks museum was very interesting and creative. Wandering around downtown was cool--we stopped in a hat shop and tried on $250 hats--it was a lot of fun. Montgomery was interesting--very old with a lot of history. And everyone says hi to you. So far, it's been very cool.
