Powerful Day in Little Rock

After a wonderful experience at the Visitor's Center and Little Rock Central High School, we loaded our buses and headed to the statues of the Little Rock Nine positioned outside of the Governor's Office at the Alabama State Capitol. The beautiful statues are a constant reminder of the wrongs of segregation and a celebration of the strength of nine students to make change.

When we finished our visit to the statues, the students participating in the journalism and women's studies classes, enjoyed a dinner discussion with students from the Clinton School of Public Service. Groups discussed the issues that the Clinton School students have chosen to focus on during their time in the master's program. Our UW-Eau Claire students came away motivated to become advocates for social change in whatever career they choose.
