Today we spent a good bit of time at the visitors center for the Little Rock Central High, which is a national park now. I was most impressed by the college students who work there as guides - the three who were there today are most passionate about the work they are doing, along with Spirit Trickey, who has a personal connection to what we were studying and who has such a light. They have tremendous passion for educating and carrying on the important work that started with the first steps of the Little Rock Nine. If there is a central theme that threads itself through this trip is that there is a great sense of the need for young people today and tomorrow to carry on the important work in which we have been immersed. There is gratitude for those who went before but such an understanding of how much more there is to be done. And it all begins with a single step.
