Today was a fantastic day. Here we are in Altanta, GA... finally able to strech our legs in our hotel rooms! My roomies and I all counted to three and flopped onto the beds at the same time. :)
We made a stop at GSU and heard from Dr. Rouse, a sassy and intelligent firecracker of a woman who was able to captivate the attention of everyone in the room. She taught us about the different women in the fight for Civil Rights and encouraged everyone in the room to become advocates of what is good and compassionate. Between the little woman who beat up the white safety guards with a pocketbook and the Klansmen she had in her classes, she had some great stories to tell.
We then toured around Atlanta for the rest of the day. Some went to the aquarium and others went to tour CNN (like me!) and everyone seemed to have a really good yet really chilly time. Below I have a picture of the Atlanta skyline just as we were boarding the bus to get back to the hotel at the end of the day. It was such a good time and I can't wait to enjoy the rest of our days together!
