Ebenezer Baptist Church & Alabama

Though I would like the weather to be A LOT warmer than it is... I have had a blast the first two days on the trip!
This morning we went to Ebenezer Baptist Church where MLK Sr. & Jr. both were pastors, which is also right down the street from MLK's birthhome and historical center. The Baptist Church service was AMAZING and something I was super excited to experience. The choir was so good, everyone will have to youtube them or find them on video somewhere, so much energy and soul power! Everyone greeted us and it was the most fun I've ever had at a church service! After church we got to see the MLK museum next to Ebenezer and also his & Corretta Scott King's grave and memorial pond which is right down the street where he grew up.

Then we hopped back on the bus (it seems to be getting smaller and more cramped as we keep traveling) and headed for Birmingham, AL. We went to the Civil Rights Institute which was more than amazing to see artifacts and stories in person. We even ran into a man outside by the 16th street Baptist Church (where the 4 little girls were killed in a bombing) and he told us a story about how he grew up right on that street and explained where Willie Mays lived and the first Black billionaire as well. We wandered around Kelly Ingram Park also..... Tiring day but fund and interesting.

The next couple of days we are headed to U of AL-Birmingham and Montgomery.... then on to New Orleans which I'm really excited for. As for now, the hotel beds are the most comfortable place to be!
