Birmingham/Montgomery

Today was another amazing day. The information, insight, stories and personal examples shared by Dr. Pamela King, her students and guest speakers provided me with a new level of understanding what went on during the civil rights perspectives. The different perspectives held by different generations, backgrounds, races all applied to the discussion held during Dr. Pamela Kings lecture. Even more insight was gained during the down time after the lecture when UWEC students were allowed to interview and have personal conversations with University of Alabama-Birmingham students about the civil rights movement and more. The Rosa Parks Museum and Library in the afternoon was also educational, providing an interactive tour allowing you to more accurately envision what she went through. The dinner at Dreamland BBQ was yet another exceptional cultural experience concerning southern hospitality and delicious food.
