Monday night

Today was another eventful day. As unfortunate as the rain was today we still had a great tour in Birmingham of Kelly Ingram Park and the historic 4th district. I think that the tour was even more meaningful because our tour guide knew people who participated in the marches and other efforts memorialized by stautes in the park and her parents both worked in the historic 4th Avenue district we toured.
After our tour we headed over to the Rosa Parks museum. The museum was a virtual, semi interactive event that helped to encapture the scene along with the story of Rosa Park's heroic actions.
Because of rain we headed to the mall early where we had the pleasure of watching Ace, Phil, Tim, January, Sara today. Ace took a tumble but it was definitely Tim who won the title as the weakest link! Just kidding kodoos to those who had a great experience ice skating in the middle of a mall!!

So far the trip has been great, everything has been both inspirational and educational. My favorite part was listening to John Lewis speak. It was amazing to be able to hear a personal account from a pivatol part in Americas history.
