I have been so blessed to have been able to meet and hear Minnijean Brown and Congressman John Lewis. The power of God, civil rights, and love we heard today will forever live in my heart and mind. We have been blessed to be able to see and hear the words and message we have received today.
Every moment we should live in awe that our country has come so far, but has endured so much. This trip is an inspiration and every person on this trip has been changed and touched today, whether they no it now or not.
The Civil Rights Pilgrimage is taken by students at UW-Eau Claire each winter and spring break to explore the Deep South and be immersed in the history of the Civil Rights Movement. University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students have the opportunity to spend their winter or spring break on a Civil Rights Pilgrimage to the South, visiting sites of historic importance to the U.S. civil rights movement. This blog is a record of the learning experiences of our students dating back to our first trip in March 2008.
