What a day! :-)

Today we arrived somewhere in Tennessee and had breakfast. As soon as we got off the bus we were all disappointed on how cold it was! We were hoping to get away from the cold Wisconsin weather, even though it was a lot warmer than Wisconsin, it was still pretty chilly. After breakfast we all loaded on to the bus and headed towards Atlanta, Georgia. We got to spend some time around town to have lunch before meeting at GSU to hear our guest speaker Dr. Jacqueline Rouse. I was really moved when she said that it is not enough just to learn the information for the sake of the grade, but what is important is what we do with what we learn to make a difference in the world. Also another thing that I thought was really interesting was when she said that if she could speak to anyone from the movement, besides Fannie Lou Hamer, she would like to talk to a segregationist/Klansmen and she would just like to hear what they would had to say for themselves when she would ask them "What is it about me that scares you? Repulses you? And why? For I am just a human being".

After hearing Dr. Jacqueline Rouse we had free time to roam around. We decided to take a CNN tour and go to the Coca-Cola gift shop. The CNN tour was really interesting. It was fascinating to see all the things that go behind the scenes into making a great news broadcast. Also it was cool to see all the little tricks they use to make the broadcast run smoothly.

We had a really fun day today, can't wait untill tomorrow! (We are going to a Baptist Church!!)
